Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 15, 2025
This policy is provided for informational purposes and does not constitute legal advice. Please consult a qualified attorney for questions about your specific situation.
Introduction
OpenClaw Provider ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use our website, dashboard, and managed deployment services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Information We Collect
We collect only the information necessary to provide and improve the Service. This includes:
- Account information — your name and email address, provided during registration.
- Payment information — billing details processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your full credit card number on our servers.
- Server connection details — the IP address and credentials for the server we provision on your behalf, used exclusively for deployment and management.
- Usage analytics — anonymized data about how you interact with our dashboard and website, such as page views and feature usage, to help us improve the product.
What We Don't Collect
Your OpenClaw instance runs independently on your own dedicated server. We do not access, read, store, or process:
- Your conversations or chat messages
- Files stored on your server
- Commands executed by your AI assistant
- API keys for your language model providers
- Any data processed by your OpenClaw instance
Our management platform communicates with your server only to perform deployments, apply updates, and run health checks. We have designed our systems so that your private data never passes through our infrastructure.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- Account management — creating and maintaining your account, authenticating logins, and communicating account-related updates.
- Service delivery — provisioning servers, deploying OpenClaw, applying updates, and monitoring uptime on your behalf.
- Support — responding to your support requests and troubleshooting issues with your deployment.
- Product improvement — analyzing anonymized usage patterns to improve features, performance, and user experience.
Data Storage and Security
Your account data is stored securely using encrypted databases with access restricted to authorized personnel. We follow industry-standard security practices, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, regular security audits, and principle-of-least-privilege access controls. While no system can guarantee absolute security, we take every reasonable measure to protect your information.
Third-Party Services
We use a limited number of third-party services to operate the platform:
- Stripe — for secure payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy governs how they handle your payment data.
- Analytics — we use anonymized, privacy-respecting analytics to understand how visitors use our website. No personally identifiable information is shared with analytics providers.
- Cloud providers — you choose which cloud provider hosts your server (AWS, DigitalOcean, Vultr, Hetzner, Akamai, or your own VPS). Your server is governed by that provider's terms and privacy policy.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data that we hold on file.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information in your account.
- Delete your account and all associated data from our systems.
- Export your account data in a portable format upon request.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@openclawprovider.com. We will respond to all requests within 30 days.
Cookies
We use only essential cookies required for the Service to function properly. These include session cookies to keep you logged in and authentication cookies to verify your identity. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party cookies that monitor your activity across other websites.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email at the address associated with your account before the changes take effect. We encourage you to review this page periodically for the latest information.
